November 2017 Wrap-Up

December 3, 2017

Am I the only one who can hardly believe we’re nearing the end of 2017?! It feels surreal to be writing my November 2017 Wrap-Up… and yet, here I am! In many ways, my November reading list pushed me outside my comfort zone: I tried crime novels that challenged my preconceived notions of what subgenres I would (and wouldn’t) like, explored new-to-me authors, and read one hugely anticipated crime book that releases in 2018 and will surely be a favorite of mine next year. Read on for a recap of my reads from the month of November, plus a roundup of the additional blog posts featured on Crime by the Book this past month!

October 2017 Wrap-Up

November 5, 2017

October has come and gone, and what a great reading month it was! I genuinely enjoyed every single book I read this month. From dark and gritty Nordic Noir to a charming crime fiction short story collection and a Hitchcock-inspired psychological thriller, my bookish October was outstanding. (So much so that I had a hard time picking a "least favorite read of the month" below!) Read on for a recap of my reads from the month of October, plus a roundup of the additional blog posts featured on Crime by the Book this past month!

September 2017 Wrap-Up & Favorite New Releases

October 7, 2017

September was a fantastic month in books for me! Between traveling to Scotland for Bloody Scotland, interviewing David Lagercrantz (the author of the new Lisbeth Salander book!), meeting and interviewing M.J. Arlidge (author of the Helen Grace series), and getting Halloween reading recommendations for CBTB from horror writer Ania Ahlborn, I basically couldn't have asked for a better bookish month! October is shaping up to be an equally fantastic one - but more on that soon. In this post, you'll find a summary of the books I read in September, and some fun bookish stats from the month!

September 2, 2017

Happy September, readers!! I am so excited that fall is just around the corner. But first: it’s time to recap my August reads! August was, overall, a fantastic reading month for me. I found an addictive psychological thriller that I loved, I enjoyed a re-read of my favorite Agatha Christie book, and a whole lot more! I’m also going to include something new at the end of this post: I’ll be listing my favorite August releases so you know which new crime titles from the month I would recommend. Happy reading!

July 2017 Wrap-Up

August 2, 2017

July was a fantastic reading month for me—while I didn’t read as many books as I typically do, I loved the majority of the books I did read. And I had a great reason for not reading as much as usual: I spent nearly a week of the month involved in activities for ThrillerFest 2017, an annual crime fiction conference held in New York! Learn all about my July reads and ThrillerFest in this post, plus see a few fun bookish statistics from my month in reading.
