BUZZWORTHY 2022 BOOKS: GREENWICH PARK by Katherine Faulkner

November 11, 2021

It’s hard to believe it, but a new year is almost upon us—and it’s promising to deliver some outstanding crime and suspense novels! In the lead up to the new year, I’m resurrecting my “Buzzworthy Books” series—a series of “preview” posts dedicated to highlighting a couple of early-2022 releases that I’m particularly excited about! For my first Buzzworthy 2022 Book, I’m so excited to recommend Katherine Faulkner’s outstanding domestic thriller GREENWICH PARK, which will hit US bookstores on January 25th. This exceptional domestic suspense novel delivers a delicious blend of paranoia-inducing plotting and engaging, entertaining interpersonal secrets and drama. Pick this book up for its stunning cover, stay for its wildly addictive and seriously unsettling cat-and-mouse plot. Read on for three reasons you should add GREENWICH PARK by Katherine Faulkner to your 2022 reading list!

Buzzworthy 2018 Books: MACBETH by Jo Nesbø

November 8, 2017

If there’s one book that has been my most-anticipated ever since I started Crime by the Book, it’s this one. Jo Nesbø’s MACBETH (Hogarth; April 10, 2018) is part of the Hogarth Shakespeare’s collection of modern-day retellings in honor of the Bard’s 400th birthday—and it’s a story worthy of its namesake in every sense. This book doesn’t release until April 2018, but trust me: I wouldn’t bring this book up so early if it weren’t a must-read. Nesbø’s MACBETH is a modern-day crime novel with the beating heart of Shakespeare’s play: it captures the moral complexity, menace, and despair of the original, with a grim, gritty twist that is trademark Nesbø.

Buzzworthy 2018 Books: THE SANDMAN by Lars Kepler

October 30, 2017

Crime fiction readers, listen up: if you love gritty, cinematic, edge-of-your-seat thrillers, I did the legwork for you—meet one of your future contenders for favorite book of 2018. Today’s featured Buzzworthy 2018 Book, THE SANDMAN by Lars Kepler (March 2018), is one of those rare books that balances meticulous plotting, edge-of-your-seat suspense, and an almost mythic serial killer to pitch-perfect effect. Cinematic, action-packed, and bone-chilling, THE SANDMAN is poised to deliver a standout 2018 thriller read. It might release in March, but I’m betting it will top the “Best Of” lists for fans of Scandinavian greats like THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO by Stieg Larsson and THE SNOWMAN by Jo Nesbo.

Buzzworthy 2018 Books: THE WOMAN IN THE WINDOW by A.J. Finn

October 22, 2017

2018 is shaping up to be a fantastic year for new crime fiction, and my Buzzworthy Books series is here profile the upcoming releases that deserve to be on your reading list! For my second Buzzworthy Books pick, I’ve chosen THE WOMAN IN THE WINDOW by A.J. Finn - a masterful, immersive psychological suspense novel that will recall Hitchcock and Rear Window for its readers. Masterfully plotted and vividly told, THE WOMAN IN THE WINDOW draws readers into the maze-like mind of a very solitary woman, and unravels the external circumstances that have made her who she is.
